San Francisco-based Ozgood has been championing a panoply of musical styles for years as a DJ/producer/remixer and co-founder of the Afrolicious party and collective. During his DJ sets he navigates his dance floor through an eclectic mix of disco, funk, Latin and more. With original productions and remixes to his credit on Six Degrees Records and Akwaaba Records, this summer Ozgood unveiled “No Water No Life,” an infectious Afro-house collaboration with Yacouba Diarra. The track has now been put in the talented hands of legendary underground NYC house music stalwart DJ Romain. The Metro Trax label boss takes the jam into an even deeper direction, effortlessly juxtaposing his signature sound with the acoustic strings of Diarra’s n’goni (African harp). Listen to the world premiere below and be sure to pick up the remix when it’s released on September 30 on Mixto Music. If you’re in NYC on October 1, stop  by the Metafunk! party at Studio 151 featuring Ozgood, Aaron DRM (Bastard Jazz) and FSQ (Soul Clap Records) on the decks.

Premiere: Infinity Shred – Datadealer

infinity-shred

Brooklyn-based post rock outfit Infinity Shred use synthesizers to realize their soothing, highly transformative sound that traipses along the border of melancholy and euphoria. After the release of their well-received 2013 debut Sanctuary on OK Go’s Parachute Recordings, founding members Nate Ritholz and Damon Hardjowirogo enlisted drummer Clara Warner and created the group’s majestic follow-up, Long Distance, due out on October 14. We’re thrilled to world premiere “Datadealer” from their upcoming album, a shimmering track with gradual builds and massive crescendos that, like many of their songs, oozes an addictive bittersweet quality that we can’t get enough of. And while you’re at it, fire up the Makeup and Vanityset remix for good measure.

Premiere: Andre Crom – Destiny (TRACE7000 Remix)

With summer now in his rear view, OFF Recordings boss Andre Crom is getting ready to release the Destiny EP, an unrelenting and wonderfully dark three-tracker. A label owner with a keen sense of A&R, Crom put the title track in the hands of up-and-coming, acid-obsessed Netherlands-based producer TRACE7000 (a.k.a. Ferdous Dehzad), which we’re thrilled to world premiere. TRACE7000, who is signed to Tiga’s Turbo Recordings, presents a striking manifesto over the span of his six-minute interpretation. Over the trajectory of the remix, he embellishes “Destiny” with meandering synths and percussion galore. Check the premiere below and look for the full release on October 3.

Premiere: French Horn Rebellion – Way Out

french-horn-rebellion

Brooklyn-based indie dance-pop duo French Horn Rebellion — biological brothers Robert Perlick-Molinari and David Perlick-Molinari (who notably produced MGMT’s massive Time to Tell EP) — have won a legion of fans thanks to their intoxicating concoction of synth-charged dance, electro and rock. In advance of the release of their 13-track self-produced album Classically Trained out October 14 via Ensemble Records, we’re excited to world premiere the silky jam “Way Out,” which they tell us “was originally a song asking ‘George Michael, where are you now?’ It morphed into something inspired by the exuberance and optimism of the early ’90s. We thought it would be fun to pair that with the realism of a breakup song.”
