Video Premiere: Milk & Sugar – “Ready or Not”
A year after dropping their 2014 house anthem “Canto Del Pilon,” esteemed German duo Milk & Sugar — Mike Milk and Steven Sugar — are riding high once again courtesy of their new dance floor jam, “Ready or Not,” featuring emerging UK vocalist Taisa Bennett.
We’ve got the world premiere of the funkfest’s music video directed by YourDutch featuring lots of breakdancing, boomboxes and B-boy swagger.
“We wanted to have something more rough and urban for this song,” the Munich-based duo tells us. “Graffiti and a funky style is the message of the video, and we think it fits with the track perfectly.”
Premiere: Rhymos – “Particle Fever”
Since launching Whistleblower Records in 2014 label owners/longtime friends Alan Fitzpatrick, Reset Robot, Con Fraser and Rhymos (a.k.a. Aaron Binstead) have been taking things nice and easy, selectively striking when the moment felt right. This month they step up in a big way with Rhymos’ “Particle Fever,” a deep, late-night gem that resides on the border of house and techno. The effortless track is neatly stitched together with swelling basslines, woozy pads and hi-hats from heaven — what more could you possibly ask for?
Listen to the world premiere of “Particle Fever” below, and be sure to pick up Rhymos’ smoldering after-hours jam next week.
Rhymos’ “Particle Fever” is released via Whistleblower on August 10, 2015.
Premiere: Michael Klein feat. Geneviève Marentette – “Pattern Movement”
Berlin duo Pan-Pot announced this month that their Second State label will release their new album, The Other, in September. The duo — Thomas Tassilo and Benedix Ippenberger — also use their imprint to shine the spotlight on artists they believe in, building a tidy roster of talent in the process.
Enter fellow Berliner Michael Klein to the fold. He’s a wildly inventive techno producer/DJ/live performer/product designer at Native Instruments and formerly half of DJ duo Klein & Meister. His artistry and technical prowess goes deep into the cosmos on his standout three-track Drawing EP.
We’re extremely pleased to world premiere the pulsating closing cut “Pattern Movement” featuring Geneviève Marentette from his new EP, a dark, hypnotic and thoroughly pulsating romp. As the vocal sample on the track urges, get it!
Michael Klein’s Drawing EP is released July 31, 2015 on Pan-Pot’s Second State imprint.
