Premiere: Fort Knox Five ft. Qdup – Four Deck DJ Set (2015 Shambhala Mix)

FK5ftQdup_Shambhala2015_5_Shadow_1000

Fort Knox Five have appeared at the Shambhala Music Festival in the mountains of British Columbia for 10 years in a row now. But their most recent set as Shambhala is special for a couple of reasons. For one thing, this is the first time the Five’s Shambhala set has been subsequently made available to the wider world. Additionally, on a sad note, their latest set for the festival was performed in honor of their fallen comrade, the late Jon Horvath, known to FK5 fans as DJ Jon H. Their Four Deck set, featuring everything from exclusive mixes and original tunes to signature standbys, is a free-flowing blend of go-go, dancehall, funk, house and much more, letting you tap into that party feel from wherever you happen to be.

Here’s a note from the guys: “A special shout out goes to Rich E. Rich and the Fractal Forest crew for the continued support and always putting together one of the most anticipated line-ups of the festival year.”

Premiere: Lewis Boardman – “Sleazy Dance Moves”

LewisBoardman

Matthias Tanzmann’s Moon Harbour label, which happens to be celebrating its 15th anniversary this year, shows that it still has some surprises in store in the form of Sleazy Dance Moves Vol. 1, the new EP by U.K. talent Lewis Boardman.

The DJ who helped make the Circus parties in Liverpool famous is no slouch in the recording studio either, having strutted his stuff on several labels, but for his first outing on Moon Harbour, Boardman has refined his sound more than ever.

The deep house grooves Boardman gets into over the course of these four tracks are as visceral as they are carefully crafted, and for his part, Boardman sounds like he’s in his comfort zone on the Moon Harbour roster saying, “This is my best work so far and I’m really happy to be a part of such a great label as Moon Harbour, I’ve been a huge fan of Matthias and his work for many years.” And the title track, which you can sneak a peek at below, shows that Boardman’s at his best here.

Sleazy Dance Moves Vol.1 will be released on October 14 through Moon Harbour.

Premiere: Alec Chizhik & Markus Mehta feat. Roberto Q. Ingram – “Music” (Junior Gee Remix)

Junior Gee

How can you dance without music? That’s the intentionally rhetorical question posed by German house maestros Alec Chizhik and Markus Mehta on “Music,” which is the fifth release from Loot Recordings. Featuring spoken word vocals by Roberto Q. Ingram, the duo’s raw, old-school flavored jam takes a page from club classics like Cevin Fisher‘s “The Way We Used To” and Eddie Amador’s “House Music” but they’re careful to douse it with a fresh twist.

The boys put “Music” in the very capable hands of Junior Gee (pictured), and we’re thrilled to world premiere the British mixmaster’s stripped down remix that’s pure fire.

Hit the play button below only if you’re a true fan of house music.

“Music” is out October 5 on Loot Recordings.

Premiere: Pablie – “Soul Drivers”

Pablie

Between 2007 and 2009 Barcelona musician Sau Poler produced a collection of gorgeous downtempo tracks under the Pablie moniker. Poler eventually gravitated toward focusing on other styles of electronic music, and for one reason or another the songs he crafted went unreleased — until now. Next month Poler’s songs will finally see the light of day as Amsterdam-based Atomnation will release B Sides, a nine-track document of the recordings Poler made all those years ago.

We’re extremely pleased to world premiere “Soul Drivers” from the album. A hazy instrumental head-nodder with an effortless groove, sinewy acoustic bassline and mesmerizing percussion, it’s a transformative jam we’ve been enjoying on repeat mode.

Get a first listen to “Soul Drivers” below, and be sure to check out B Sides when it’s released on October 16.
