Limited Edition Star Wars Soundtracks on Vinyl

star-wars-Hyperdrive

Who says Star Wars fandom and record collecting don’t have any common ground? On the most basic level, they’re two of the geekiest pursuits in the pop culture realm (in a good way). But a new development has given record-loving Star Wars obsessives something to shout about. The label I Am Shark has released a limited-edition double-LP vinyl reissue of John Williams’ original soundtrack for Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace. Not only that, there are further plans in the works for reissue of the soundtracks of Episodes II and III.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a truly geektacular event if the package didn’t come with options for different colors. In fact, there are four different character-coordinated vinyl colors available (each in limited quantities, naturally). There’s Obi-Wan Kenobi (Translucent Blue), Qui-Gon Jinn (Green/Brown Marble), Darth Maul (Red/Gold Stripe on Black), and Hyperdrive (White Splatter on Black). If you hurry, you can nab a copy of the Episode I record now; II and III are expected to arrive in January, so be on the lookout. May the Force be with you.
