Premiere: Luka Sambe & Filter Bear – Birds Of The Ravine (Filter Bear Remix)

Luka Sambe & Filter Bear

UK-based electronica artist Nick Tripswitch Brennan launched onedotsixtwo, a sub-label of his eclectic Section Records, last year. From the get-go he delivered In At The Deep End, a 23-track two-disc compendium featuring tracks from a fine selection of like-minded musical spirits, and hasn’t looked back.

After recently issuing “Voight Kampff” with Nick Warren, Brennan’s imprint is set to unveil Luka Sambe & Filter Bear‘s “Birds Of The Ravine.” The cut is a wonderful collaborative track from a pair of up-and-coming Aussie producers who happen to be childhood friends.

In addition to the track’s original version, both producers offer their own take on the prog-house track. We’re extremely pleased to world premiere Filter Bear’s evocative remix that’s overflowing with melody and soul.

“This remix was a bit of a challenge, as my personal style is already quite melodic,” says Filter Bear. “In this case the original already had a highly emotive theme, so I set out to slow things down to a more granular and ‘lazy’ level, really maximizing the existing beauty of the original elements. I wanted to create a fresh interpretation of the groove by adding a new bassline, giving the track some energy and drama at the low end to compliment the booming chords and numerous melodies at the top.”
