Video Premiere: Gargarin – Autonomist

GAGARIN

Gargarin is a solo project helmed by Graham “Dids” Dowdall, a musical journeyman who played with Nico in the ’80s and has collaborated and performed with John Cale, Ludus, Eric Random, Suns of Arqa, Band of Holy Jo and Low Bias. Among his many other credits, Dowdall is a member of avant rock legends Pere Ubu and duo Roshi featuring Pars Radio.

In November we premiered “Winterfold,” a lush, airy soundscape from the UK producer’s excellent Corvid album out now on Geo. Cut to 2018 and Dowdall is back with an arty, eye-catching video for his cinematic track “Autonomist.” It’s composed of eye-catching festival video captured by ImpaTV.

Says Dowdall of the clip, “The video of ‘Autonomist’ was originally recorded at Woodland Gathering, a small festival staged in a forest in the Lake District during August 2017. The festival is mostly industrial and noise acts and Gagarin was amongst the softer and more reflective of acts there which also featured rituals and installations.”
