Ahead of the August 22 release of Camino 84’s New Mutant Disco, a full-length featuring Beantown luminaries including singer-songwriter Sidney Gish and MCs KOOL A.D and Latrell James, we’re pleased to world premiere the adrenaline-fueled “Blue Rose.”
Taking a page from seminal sampledelic mid-’90s house classics like The Bucketheads’ “The Bomb” from 1995 or Armand Van Helden’s re-rub of Tori Amos’ “Professional Widow,” Lucht crafts a bad-ass funkfest wielding dirty basslines, discofied strings, cut-up diva vocals, and a rhythm that’s gonna get you.
