It’s been quite a week of premieres here at Big Shot HQ. After debuting an array of awesome tracks and videos by Cuartero, Tsaik, beGun and Bimas, we close out the week in a big way by unveiling Alan Fitzpatrick‘s breathtaking remix of Pan-Pot’s “Punxsutawney.”
Featured on the duo’s The Other Remixes out on December 14 via Second State, Fitzpatrick (read our exclusive interview with him here) and a select coterie of remixers including Carl Cox, Extrawelt and Nicole Moudaber reimagine tracks from the Berlin twosome’s acclaimed The Other album.
On “Punxsutawney” Fitzpatrick reimagines the downtempo track in the context of minimal techno, slowly building his iteration with tense percussion and injecting singer Frankie’s vocals over his signature dark groove at precisely the right moment.
