Inspired by a spate of musical styles — Detroit techno, breaks, house, trance, drum ‘n’ bass and hip-hop — Irish-born, Spain-based producer GuyRo has cultivated a unique sound within the umbrella of electronica.

Over the years, he’s released tracks on various labels, including Balkan Connection Magnitude, PHW Elements and ICONNYC.

Ahead of the September 11 release of GuyRo’s Ten EP on Pangea Recordings, we’re pleased to world premiere “subOscillate (Original Mix)” from the four-track release.

The effervescent eight-minute track utilizes a catchy synth melody that builds up into a euphoric, driving groove — with surprise dramatic musical twists thrown in for good measure.

In July, Athens, Greece-based DJ/producer George Bakalakos (a.k.a. NTEIBINT) and fellow Athenian Matina Sous Peau presented their winsome collaboration titled “Love Is Everywhere,” a beautiful song from the vault that was written more than ten years ago.

Released on the venerable Eskimo Recordings label, the smooth, soulful and heartfelt ballad conjured — in my mind at least — hints of Everything But The Girl to Moloko.

We’re thrilled to world premiere Satin Jackets’ remix crafted by German nu-disco giant Tim Bernhardt.

Bernhardt transforms the track from downtempo jam to uptempo nu-disco anthem, all while staying within the scope of the original version. For four-and-a-half minutes, he judiciously sprinkles the right amount of funk and housey stardust on his spirited interpretation.

We Got This Music label boss Spekt1 and fellow Bay Area DJ/producer Mvtteo have collaborated on their debut joint project, the Unspoken Mirrors EP.

On the three-track EP, the pair explore the outer realm of trap music. Together, their unique musical alchemy pushes the style ahead while fearlessly asking an existential question: What is true in a post-truth world?
