Premiere: Adriana Lopez – “Close Resemblance”

Adriana-Lopez

This month Oscar Mulero’s techno label PoleGroup will release the second edition of the Unknown Landscapes mix series. Mulero, who steered the maiden voyage, hands the musical reigns over to Spain’s Christian Wünsch for a 70-minute, 21-track session composed of exclusive and unreleased tracks by the likes of Reeko, Exium, Lewis Fautzi, Ben Gibson and more.

We’re thrilled to premiere “Close Resemblance” by Colombia-born and Barcelona-based DJ/producer/Grey Report owner Adriana López from the release. Like all of the exceptional tracks on Vol. 2, López’s sinewy blips and bleeps slice through the air like a hot knife through butter. Go have a listen for yourself below.

PoleGroup release Unknown Landscapes Vol. 2 on December 15. Catch Christian Wünsch (live), Lewis Fautzi, Adriana Lopez and Claudio PRC at Tresor Berlin on December 29.

With his profile at its highest, Khanjian continues to spread his musical wings across techno, house and progressive.

Premiere: Heymen – “If I Play Your Game” (Eat More Cake Remix)

Heymen - If I Play Your Game remix

Few debut singles are as instantly infectious as “If I Play Your Game” by Italian indie-dance quartet Heymen. Composed of Jack Parisi, Marco Parisi, Luca Bertolini and Ryan Ellingson, the foursome’s maiden voyage is pop-dance at its finest and leaves us wanting more. (Hell, even their zentai-themed music video for the song is as charming as it is bizarre.)

A band you will not doubt be hearing a lot more about in the immediate future, we’re pleased to premiere London collective Eat More Cake‘s remix of Heymen’s instant classic.

Known for their productions on Strictly Rhythm, D:Vision, Ego, King Street Sounds, Whartone and Grin as well as DJing at hot spots like Lovebox, Gatecrasher and Pacha, EMC keep the vocals from the Salerno outfit in place while adding some of their trademark dance floor funk to this standout track.

Bellissima!

Premiere: Alo Wala feat. The Clerk’s “Timbuktu” (Swick & Lewis CanCut Remix)

shivani_alo-wala_

Back in the day Public Enemy’s Chuck D asked “Bass, how low can you go?” Now it’s a question of how far bass music can go. Enter Chicago-born, Copenhagan-based rapper Alo Wala (a.k.a. Shivani Ahlowalia), whose bottom-heavy sound embraces booty shaking music from all over the world. Dancehall, juke, hip-hop, jungle…all of these styles and more flow through her inspired sound.

After aligning with the Enchufada label to release her Cityboy EP last month — which was realized in association with a coterie of producers from all over the world — comes Swick & Lewis’ red-hot re-rub of “Timbuktu” which we’re proud to premiere.

“For us this remix was just a really fun day in the studio trying things out,” the Melbourne-based Swick & Lewis tell Big Shot. “We spent the morning listening to older club and jungle tracks on YouTube then started with the vocal and went from there. I think the fact that a lot of early club tracks at the time were experimenting with new ways of making music, that made us want try new sounds and make something quite loose.”

Crank up the track below and get ready to move your waistline to the bassline.

Alo Wala’s Cityboy EP is out now on Enchufada. Catch Wala on her tour of India when she plays Sharda University in Noida on December 7, The Humming Tree in Bangalore on December 19 and Sunburn Festival on December 29.
