Premiere: Eddie Niguel – “The Warehouse”

Eddie Niguel The Journey EP

Singapore house/techno imprint Midnight Shift plunge deeper into the dance music abyss by way of its new White Label series. The first installment of the underground series titled The Journey is helmed by rising Lion City-based DJ/producer Eddie Niguel, whose undeniable roar is being heard around the world thanks to releases on Get Physical Music and other fine labels.

We’re pleased to world premiere “The Warehouse” from the EP, a sprawling old-school flavored cut. It’s founded on a solid Detroit-inspired techno groove that calls to mind early Inner City classics like “Good Life.”

Be among the first to check out “The Warehouse” and be sure to keep an eye out for the EP when it drops on May 25, 2015.

Premiere: Catz ‘N Dogz feat. Phat Kat – “Killing With Kindness”

Catz N Dogz

After recently dropping their splendid From Your Heart EP Polish house prodigies Catz ‘N Dogz — Grzegorz Demianczuk and Wojciech Taranczuk — are back with their Killing With Kindness EP. We’re extremely pleased to world premiere the title track featuring Detroit rapper Phat Kat. Anchored on a bed of deep keys, a rocking 4/4 groove and Phat Kat’s cut-up voice all up in the mix, the back to the future jam sounds like it could’ve been dropped by Tony Humphries at Club Zanzibar back in the day. Yes, it sounds that good.

Soak up a first listen to the track below, and keep your eyes (and ears) peeled for Catz ‘N Dogz’s upcoming full-length album, Basic Colour Theory.

Catz ‘N Dogz’s Killing With Kindness EP is released May 22, 2015 on Pet Recordings.

Premiere: KING 810 – “eyes” (Eelrack Remix)

king 810

In Flint, Michigan, crime and poverty overshadow daily life. Flint natives KING 810 have coped with the city’s socio-economic situation, channeling their life experiences, challenges and emotions into an acclaimed album, Memoirs of a Murderer, released last year on Roadrunner. KING 810’s riffs are heavy, and their songs are intense. Armed with songs that speak from the heart, their talent and integrity has resonated across the world, attracting a legion of like-minded souls.

Utilizing an evolving, in-yer-face and somewhat arty live show presented in the tradition of kindred spirits like Slipknot and Ghost, KING 810 have flipped the script by handing over their solemn ballad “eyes” (“When you put me in the ground… go deep, deep, deep… sleep, sleep it all away….”) to Brooklyn via Los Angeles house DJ/producer Eelrack, who’s crafted a brilliant remix which we’re thrilled to world premiere.

On Eelrack’s interpretation he effortlessly escorts “eyes” from the periphery of the mosh pit to the dance floor, presenting a slinky groove while integrating bits of the song’s poignant vocals into the remix.

“When making our record originally we knew we would eventually want to remix pieces of it,” says KING 810 front man David Gunn. “Somewhere around the mid-’90s the bigger ones like Aphex Twin and Prodigy brought our attention to the genre, and we’ve been fans of electronic music since. We plan on collaborating and continuing to give our material to the electronic world.”

Hit the play button below and marvel how heavy metal and electronic music unite as one. If only people could all get along this well.

Premiere: Toyboy & Robin feat. Robyn Sherwell – “Like A Shadow”

Toyboy & Robin

On their upcoming Studio 7 EP rising London-based DJ/production duo Toyboy & Robin (Toyin Mustapha & Rob Drake) pay homage to their soulful roots on “Like A Shadow,” a sweet jam we’re elated to premiere to the world.

Fronted by songstress Robyn Sherwell, their latest and greatest reflects the wealth of R&B and hip-hop they soaked up growing up in the ’90s and early ’00s.

“It all came together pretty organically,” they tell us about their collabo. “We were big fans of Robyn Sherwell, who handles vocals on the track, and were really excited/lucky enough to get in the studio with her. Ourselves and Robyn started it from scratch when we were in the session and just kind went with the flow with it all. We were all pretty keen to make something that felt natural to us so hopefully we succeeded with that.”

What’s next on the horizon for these talented lads? Plenty!

“We’re currently working on and finishing off a load of material we’re hoping to drop later on in the summer, as well as a couple of remixes that should be dropping too, before festival season kicks off for us.”

Hit the play button below, and say hello to your summer deep-house anthem of 2015.

Toyboy & Robin’s Studio 7 EP is released May 25, 2015 via Big Beat Records. Catch the guys at Carbon in Dublin on May 16, Amusement 13 in Birmingham, UK on May 23 and Common People in Southampton, UK on May 24.
