On “Messin” Crew Love stalwart Navid Izadi channels ’80s Latin freestyle — a genre whose lyrical matter is mostly derived from tales of a lover who’s done someone wrong — and offers a fantastic contemporary spin. Joined by Angelica Bess from Body Language, Izadi, who has previously collaborated with Deniz Kurtel, PillowTalk and Soul Clap, calls out this despicable cheater while getting down and dirty with his badass grooves.

We’re pleased to world premiere Midnight Magic’s remix of “Messin,” an interpretation that adds more fuel to Izadi’s musical fire.

Check out the Brooklyn collective’s remix below and be sure to listen to Izadi’s five-track EP which will be released June 22, 2015 on Wolf + Lamb.

Premiere: Serge Devant – “The Way You Move”

Serge Devant - The Way You Move

Big Apple DJ/producer Serge Devant continues to evolve his sound with each new release. After collaborating with Damiano on the sprawling deep-house vocal cut “Fearing Love” featuring Camille Safiya issued on Jamie Jones and Lee Foss’ new label Emerald City, Devant makes his debut appearance on Crosstown Rebels‘ off-shoot label Rebellion.

His latest EP was inspired by a recent trip to Thailand. During the trek Devant captured field recordings of everything from a gong meditation to sounds of a rainy night in the jungle, with those sonics adding a captivating layer to his sound.

Devant’s musical epiphany can be heard on “The Way You Move,” a sinewy cut featuring meticulously crafted percussion, which we’re extremely pleased to world premiere. The track’s meditative vocal fosters a hypnotic vibe on the bare-bones minimal track.

Here’s hoping travel continues to inspire Devant’s work.

Serge Devant’s “The Way You Move”/”Intentions” EP is released June 21 on Rebellion.

Premiere: Riva Starr & Santos – “Fallin’ On You” (Davide Squillace Remix)

Riva-Starr-Santos-Fallin-On-You

Prolific dance music journeyman Riva Starr has teamed up with pisan Santos for the Fallin’ on Acid EP released this week on Hot Creations. The duo wisely placed the title track of their pumping big-room gem into the hands of Davide Squillace, who in turn crafted a banger which we’re excited to world premiere.

Squillace’s interpretation goes deeper, darker and sounds a bit more ominous. When the wobbly sub bass rises from the din, well, don’t say we didn’t warn you about this monster of a track.

If that wasn’t enough, pick up the EP to hear “Acid Train,” the duo’s incredible collaboration with legendary acid maestro DJ Pierre.

Video Premiere: Owen Thiele & Zack Sekoff – “II. Run”

Here’s further proof that it takes two to make a thing go right. Meet emerging electronic soul/hip-hop duo Owen Thiele and Zack Sekoff, a pair who craft jams as deep as the Atlantic Ocean. On the eve of the release of their Without EP, we’re elated to world premiere the video for “II. Run”

Directed by Zachariah de Cairo, a member of the High Five Collective (Earl Sweatshirt, The Weeknd), “Run” is gorgeously realized on video and features the twosome giving heartfelt performances.

“We are so lucky to have worked with Zachariah de Cairo,” Owen Thiele tells us. “I said ‘pinch me’ close to 100 times on set …and it really felt like a dream.”

Soak up the video below and keep your eyes on these rising 19-year-olds.

Owen Thiele & Zack Sekoff’s Without EP is out June 12, 2015.
