Premiere: Panorama Channel – “Akosua” (Elijah Simmons Bells Rework)

Panorama Channel Chloe's Dream

A chance meeting at a party led Russian electronic music producers Andrey Telegin and Andrey Kinly to eventually join forces and form Panorama Channel. Their union is all about forging emotive tracks, and they display their sumptuous sound in understated fashion on their upcoming Chloe’s Dream EP. The four-track release shows the duo coming into their own musically and serves as the first of several releases celebrating the tenth anniversary of Abstraxion and DC SalasBiologic Records.

We’re pleased to world premiere Elijah Simmons’ breathtaking remix of the EP’s gorgeous opening track “Akosua.” The talented up-and-comer, who you may remember took dance floors by storm with his mesmerizing Pisces EP issued last year on Kompakt, forges an epic journey built on luscious layers of synths, synths and more synths. A truly stunning effort from artists to keep an eye on in 2016.

Panorama Channel’s Chloe’s Dream EP is released February 8 on Biologic Records.

Premiere: Ephemerals – “Everyday Killers” (The Allergies Remix)

Ephemerals

In 2014 we had the pleasure of introducing Big Shot readers to London’s Ephemerals, a funk/soul outfit led by Franglo-American singer Wolfgang Valbrun and Hillman Mondegreen. They had just dropped their brilliant debut album, Nothing is Easy, featuring choice cuts like “Things (Part 1).” Ephemerals went on to do extensive touring and released an equally tantalizing follow-up full-length, Chasin Ghosts, in October 2015.

In February these funk phenoms return with “Everyday Killers,” a song that not only encapsulates their musical ethos but tackles the senseless murders we constantly read about in the news. Built around an acoustic guitar part in the vein of XTC’s “Dear God,” deep keyboards and a big beat, a sample asks the rhetorical question, “People kill each other everyday — and for what?”

We’re thrilled to world premiere a brilliant remix of “Everyday Killers”crafted by The Allergies, a pair of highly skilled Bristol beatmakers who are slated to drop their debut album this year. Their interpretation takes the song into a starker direction while keeping the song’s insightful lyrics and message in tact. This is music for your mind, body and soul.

Ephemerals’ “Everyday Killers” is out February 19 on Jalapeño Records. Check their Facebook for European tour dates taking place this month.

Premiere: Mennie – “Haus”

mennie

Italian house producer/Club 999 resident Mennie (a.k.a Francesco Bertelli) returns to Exploited Ghetto with the Reels Rebel EP, a smoldering new release which picks up where the Florence-based phenom’s 2015 track “Phoenix” for the label left off.

With a discography boasting tracks on Noir, Jeudi, Flashmob LTD, Nurvous, Snatch! and Roush, the protégé of Italian master Mario Piu taps into his passion for sample-driven deep house for a sweaty two-tracker.

We’re extremely pleased to world premiere “Haus” from the EP. It’s a down and dirty floor mover oozing with old-school NYC house vibes that’s guaranteed to make you sweat.

Menni’s Reels Rebel EP is released February 1 on Exploited Ghetto.
