2017 Rewind: Codes

CODES

How was 2017 for you?
Codes: 2017 was an amazing year. So much great music has come out and once again we are at a time where good house music is thriving 🙌

Highlights?
Putting together my first headlining Codes House tour, the “Bumps” video crushing and lastly “Boom Bapps” passing a million streams on Spotify.

Lowlights?
Only lowlights for me were the lights at the club 😎

Song of the year?
For me that would have to be Jamie Jones vs Nookie feat Katy B’s “The Sound Of Music”

What’s your My New Year’s resolution?
To put out the best music of my life and lock down the Codes House World Tour.

2017 Rewind: Boston Chery

Boston Chery

How was 2017 for you?
Boston Chery: 2017 was a great year. I did so much. It was a blessed year.

Highlights?
I traveled so much! I spun in London and Toronto, threw my first party in Montreal, spun in Boston a few times and all over NYC. I collabed with some amazing producers to release some bangers on SoundCloud. My production remix was played on Beats 1 radio on Ebro’s show by Jasmine Solano. The opportunities and blessings have been super consistent this year.

Lowlights?
TRUMP

Song of the year?
Cardi B – “Bodak Yellow”

What’s your New Year’s resolution?
To really be everywhere. Constantly touring, dropping production, more blogs and mag posts, and to build a team that can help me spread love, dance, and unity all over the world through my music.

2017 Rewind: AC Slater

AC Slater

How was 2017 for you?
AC Slater:
In 2017 I did something I’ve been waiting for my whole life. I released my debut artist album. On top of that Night Bass continued to grow bigger and bigger. We did 17 Night Bass events across North America over the summer during our annual Summer Phases series. We also did a handful of shows in the UK. On top of all that it was awesome to watch a lot of great music and DJs make their way into festivals and clubs throughout the United States and totally hold it down.

Highlights?

My debut album, Outsiders. Duh!

Lowlights?
2017 saw a lot of crazy natural disasters and ominous political events. But I believe there is a lot of good in people and we will overcome all of the setbacks from this year.

Song of the year?
Wax Motif’s remix of “Fly Kicks.” Absolutely destroys every club or festival I’ve played it or seen it played at! Hands down number one for me.

What’s your New Year’s resolution?
I really want to throw a mini Night Bass festival! I also want to try to use my position in the music industry to help out with more charitable causes.

2017 Rewind: Baran Ertem

Baran Ertem

How was 2017 for you?
Baran Ertem: To be honest, 2017 didn’t start interesting for me, but the second half was musically rather interesting and satisfying. I had good gigs which I have enjoyed a lot. I could play the genres I prefer, which is not always the case here in Paris.

Highlights?
Winning a DJ contest organized by PWFM and Rinse FM France to play at the Open Minded Festival, and to have started my personal projects and remixes.

Lowlights?
Lowlights are always the same I believe: to have dealt with people from the industry who try to make your life harder as a musician.

Song of the year?
Difficult question, because there are plenty, but I think it’s Ten Ven’s “Turn It Up.”

What’s your New Year’s resolution?
To focus on my music more than before. Lately I’ve had my most productive period, and I want to chase this trend. I believe 2018 is pretty promising!
