Report: Family Says DJ Rashad Died of Blood Clot, Not Drugs

DJ Rashad

The Guardian is reporting that famed Chicago juke producer DJ Rashad died of a blood clot in his leg, not an overdose as was widely reported at the time of his demise. According to the paper, Rashad’s cousin informed Hyperdub about the findings after an examination by the Chicago coroner. The reported drug paraphernalia found was apparently marijuana, not hard drugs. Rashad, who died on April 26, had complained of leg pain but didn’t think it was a life-threatening situation.
