Iconic Manchester group New Order have partnered with Moorhouse’s Brewery of Burnle, U.K. to launch their own premium beer this fall. Developed by head brewer Dan Casaru and named after a cut on their most recent Music Complete full-length, Stray Dog “is a refreshing and clean tasting golden ale, with hints of citrus fruit and lychee, all balanced by a subtle bitterness.” If you’re eager to taste the band’s suds, well, you’ll have to travel to the UK. The beer will be available exclusively in Mitchells & Butlers pubs during the last week of August, ahead of national UK availability in September. A bottled 500ml version will also be made available for supermarkets and export to follow. Stray Dog will be launched officially at a special New Order-themed evening at The Sawyer’s Arms in Manchester on August 28.
Obligatory press release gush from New Order about the premium 4.2% beer: “It’s been a pleasure to work with Moorhouse’s of Burnley on our first foray into the brewing business. Even more so that they’re celebrating their 150th anniversary, and have such a rich heritage in the north west.”
