RIP Guido Osorio of Razor N’ Guido

RIP Guido Osorio of Razor and Guido

According to reports on social media, Miami bred, Long Island, NY-based DJ/producer Guido Osorio, of the popular and highly influential tribal house duo Razor & Guido, has died. No cause of the death has yet been made public. Osorio and production partner Peter “Razor” Osback first made international waves when they remixed Robert Miles’ “Fable” in 1996. Follow-up remixes of Notorious B.I.G.’s “Mo’ Money, Mo’ Problems” paved the way for their 2000 debut album, Dance Floor, released on Groovilicious, brandishing three of their signature tracks, “Men Beat Their Men,” “Do It Again,” and “Don’t Look Behind You.” In the ’90s and early ’00s Razor & Guido’s tracks were a staple in sets by fellow New York City jocks Junior Vasquez, Danny Tenaglia, Jonathan Peters, Erick Morillo and Johnny Vicious. Over the years the duo continued to produce at a nonstop pace. Kings of the Circuit party scene, they also cut remixes for Madonna, Shakira, Whitney Houston, Basement Jaxx, Kim English and Vernessa Mitchell. Additionally, they produced music for Queer As Folk as well as other TV shows and films. This is a developing story, and we will update it as we learn more about Osorio’s passing.
