How Did Noisia Win Best Live Act at Drum&Bass Arena Awards Without Doing a Live Show?

The 7th annual Drum&Bass Arena Awards took place tonight at South London’s Electric Brixton. RAM Records co-founder Andy C (pictured) took home top honors in the Best DJ category for the seventh consecutive year while Hospitality picked up a pair of awards for Best Club Night and Best Label.

Vocalist Diane Charlemagne, who died in October after a long battle with cancer, was inducted posthumously in the Hall of Fame along with Mampi Swift of Charge Recordings.

One of the more curious outcomes of the night was Noisia winning Best Live Act. You see, the trio doesn’t have a live show.

“Our booking agent will now explain to you how we have won Best Live Act without doing a live show,” they laughed when they accepted the award.

The Dutch trio also won Best Track (“Dead Limit” with The Upbeats) and Best Producer, both of which were well deserved. Full list of winners is below.
