Talented British singer-songwriter Diane Charlemagne has died after a battle with cancer. She was 49. The sad news was made public today by Goldie with a pair of heartfelt tweets:

A member of Urban Cookie Collective, Charlemagne rose to global notoriety in the ’90s fronting drum ‘n’ bass icon Goldie’s now-classic tracks “Inner City Life” and “Kemistry.” She also worked with d’n’b producers Netsky, High Contrast and Aquasky as well as house producers Satoshi Tomiie and UK producer Joey Negro. Her list of credentials also include touring with Moby.
