Houston’s Free Radicals possess over two decades of experience funking people up. Blending elements of hip-hop, ska, punk, klezmer, salsa, cumbia, and music from all over the world into their sound, the collective unabashedly inject political themes into their sweat-inducing songs.
The multimember outfit will soon unveil No State Solution, an album composed of new remixes, videos and remastered tracks culled from the group’s past six albums.
We’re extremely pleased to world premiere DJ Sun’s funktastic re-rub of “Screaming” from the upcoming release. As with all of his productions, Sun — who also lives in Houston — delivers some serious beats and grooves on this booty-shaker.
Sun says of the remix: “I’m real proud to have been able to make a small contribution to the Free Radicals catalogue …. I had a lot of really amazing tracks to choose from. In choosing ‘Screaming,’ I looked for elements that I as producer could really influence.”
