Since his days exploring trip-hop and drum ‘n’ bass as a member of Bristol trip-hop outfit Kosheen, Darren Beale has taken a new path and blazed new artistic trails under his dubspeeka moniker. Embracing a raw, ever-evolving and wholly bass-heavy sound perched on the deeper, darker end of the techno spectrum, he’s steadily upped the creative ante with each release. On September 5, he’ll release his smoldering “sk30” on the vinyl-only Drumcode Limited, and we’re privileged to world premiere German producer Markus Suckut’s sleek remix. From the get-go Suckut, whose 2013 DNA full-length remains one for the history books, fires up a booming kick drum and squiggly synth lines quickly bringing the track to a rolling boil. Hit the play button now, and get ready to feel the heat.
