Back in the day Muzik — a London-based DJ magazine which I used to contribute to — ran a regular feature called Bedroom Bedlam. A monthly contest where unknown jocks would compete for bragging rights and the opportunity to spin at a major club, it gave a leg up to a wealth of new talent including James Zabiela. Liverpool-based Yousef took top honors in October 1997 (check his mix here!), and as his career as a DJ/producer has blossomed nicely ever since then thanks to a lot of talent and hard work. While he’s now an established force on the global stage, Yousef has continually paid his success forward by cultivating new talent through his Circus Recordings (which is also a traveling club event).
This week Circus will release Selector Part 3, a compendium of tracks crafted by mixmasters Yousef believes in. We’re thrilled to world premiere veteran Italian producer Bimas’ “Waiting For The Rhum,” a badass four-to-the-floor house groover. Get a first listen to the rockin’ track below.
