DAVI 5 Tracks of the Moment

DAVI Crosstown Rebels

A regular contributor to Crosstown Rebels and sister label Rebellion, Los Angeles-based producer David “DAVI” Khanjian – who we’ve been covering on this very site since 2014 – is back with melodic house gem “Lie Machine.”

What’s notable about DAVI’s latest and greatest is that his new single is his first foray into crafting a full-on vocal tune.

Bathed in percolating pads and smoldering percussion, “Lie Machine” is an impressive career milestone. What’s more is that red-hot duo North London Gorgon City handle remix duties for the track that’s out on December 6.

Ahead of the release of “Lie Machine” we connected with Davi and asked him to share his five tracks of the moment.

Cioz & Super Flu – Jodi Bush (Crosstown Rebels)

Both Cioz and Super Flu have been two of my favorite producers this year. I heard Damian [Lazurus] playing this track many times before it was out, and I couldn’t wait for the promo. One of those tracks that have a dark and melodic vibe that works perfectly.

Tibi Dabo – It’s All Behind (Crosstown Rebels)

I can’t get enough of Tibi Dabo’s releases. This is pure gold, if you play it at the right time and right place.

Max Cooper – Cyclic (John Tejada Remix) (Mesh)

I always aim to produce tracks like this but often forget to make an effort. The simplicity of this track is the key and can work so well for sunset outdoor events. Love John Tejada and always have respected his sound.

Doomwork – Independence (Cocoon)

This track came out three years ago but somehow I have been playing it more these days than before. Really digging when the vocals come in. It kind of reminds me of the sound from 2012 and 2013. Really nice and groovy!

Djuma Soundsystem & Westerby – Saguaro (Sobek Remix)

I use this track during my sets when I really want to capture the crowd’s attention. It really does wonders sometimes. You can’t play this one and not expect the “Track ID” messages in your inbox the next day.
