How was 2018 for you?
XY&O: Fast. So fast. We can’t believe a year has gone by already. It’s been a weird year for us. We hardly released any new music this year, but we’ve been really busy totally restructuring our live show and re-shaping the whole team around us. We changed management this year, got our own studio space, got a new live agent and played our first show abroad.
Highlights?
We put together a run of residency shows through the spring and early summer at a cool venue in Cardiff (our home city). Originally these were for us to test our new equipment, lighting and some new songs. They ended up being so much more though, we were blown away by the attendance and support at every gig. The whole thing was really humbling for us.
…and we released our new single “Fever,” which includes a Deep House Remix from TDOR.
Lowlights?
Maybe the fact that we haven’t been able to release as much music as we’d planned this year. The organizational changes we’ve made took up a lot of time, and we didn’t get as much time to write new music as we’d have liked. That being said, we’re back on track now and have developed a new, more sophisticated sound.
Song of the year?
