Federico Scavo’s Top 5 House Labels

Federico-Scavo

DJ/producer/AREA 94 Records label boss Federico Scavo has rocked dance floors from Ministry of Sound in London to Ruby Skye in San Francisco and beyond since the ’90s. Currently holding down a residency at Wall in Miami, the Italy-based Scavo has always dared to be a bit different with his productions for Azuli, Toolroom and Great Stuff. His forward-thinking mindset shines brightly on his two upcoming buzzworthy house anthems, “Anima” and “Live Your Life” feat. Barbara Tucker featuring a remix by none other than Roger Sanchez, which will certainly take his career to the next level in 2016.

Ahead of a busy few months filled with DJ gigs and new releases, we checked in with Scavo and asked him to discuss five labels he can’t live without.

Federico Scavo’s “Anima” is out February 22 on AREA 94 Records.

1. AREA 94 Records
AREA 94, the Italian house label that features artists from all over the world, is my favorite label ever because it’s my own label! We have artists including Robbie Rivera, Jerome Robins, DJ PP, Alex Kenji, Crazibiza as well as a lot of young talented guys. There is always something new to hear from us!

2. D:vision Records
I have worked with this label since 1994. I released some of my most important projects with them, including “Funky Nassau,” “Balada,” “Parole Parole” and the recent “Live Your Life” feat. Barbara Tucker. It’s one Italy’s most successful dance labels, and they release a lot of tracks with positive vibes. The label team is fantastic and very professional.

3: Hotfingers Records
Hotfingers Records is the imprint of Alex Kenji. It’s one of the most popular house labels on Beatport. I released my track “Strump” with them and it went to gold record status in Italy. I also ranked the #1 overall on Beatport with three tracks co-produced with Alex Kenji.

4. Toolroom Records
Toolroom Records are a big team with whom I have worked a lot with over the years. Their sounds are perfect for my DJ sets, and I support a lot of tracks from Mark Knight, Prok & Fitch to Chus & Ceballos and many more.

5. X Records
X Records is also one of my favorite labels right now. Cool releases from great artists including Pete Tong, Todd Terry and Junior Sanchez. I love this house label from Steve Angello.
