Vanilla Ace’s 5 Songs of the Moment on SoundCloud

vanilla-ace

London house star Vanilla Ace has been on a creative tear for the past two years. Releasing choice tracks for Toolroom, MODA, Blockhead, Maquina and Ministry of Sound, he’s continually refined his infectious disco-infused 4/4 signature, collaborating with Sharam Jay and remixing Basement Jaxx, Kylie Minogue, S’Express and Dirty Vegas along the way.

This month the funk phenomenon kicks off a 19-city U.S. tour that finds him spreading his funky vibes across America, including a high-profile set at HARD Summer on August 2. Which tunes will Mr. Ace drop on his stateside trek? Read below and find out.

Vanilla Ace’s U.S. tour kicks off  in Phoenix at Electric Ballroom on July 30. Get his full list of tour dates here. While you’re at it download his free remix of ZHU’s “Faded” here.

1. Moon Boots – “Don’t Ask Why”
This track is on repeat on my iPhone. Such a great song and the production as usual by Moon Boots is sexy and slick. I’ve actually just done a remix of this track with my pal Barber which will be out soon.

2. Deodato – “Skatin'”(Chezz All Night Long Re-Edit)
If you’re into your classic soul, funk and disco like me, Chezz is a great guy to follow as he’s always posting amazing re-edits of classic tracks. This track by Deodato is the sample the Notorious B.I.G. used for “Nasty Girl” and was my inspiration for my track “Love 2 Love It” with Sharam Jey.

3. HRRSN – “Only You”
HRRSN has grabbed my attention with some great releases and remixes. Very good production and grooves ready for the dance floor. His latest EP on the Light My Fire label is top!

4. Ian Metty – “Introspect Deep” – Sexual (Ian Metty Remix)
Ian is an up-and-coming producer who splits his time between Berlin and London. His recent work caught my attention. Really nice layered cool beats and ideas. I’ve remixed a forthcoming track of his which is pretty huge!

5. Chad Tyson – “Striptease”
Had to show some love to one of my oldest friends and partner in crime, Chad Tyson. He’s produced some gems over the last year that I rinse in my DJ sets. We have a new exciting project together on the horizon. This track of his “Striptease” features a cheeky JD sample that will smash any dance floor!
