Big Shot Guest Mix 312: Esteban Adame

Esteban Adame

Los Angeles DJ/producer Esteban Adame made a memorable musical statement on his 2013 debut album, Day Labor. Produced in a small room in a downtown warehouse next to a hardware store where day laborers would congregate hoping to get construction jobs, the stories they told him served as inspiration for his full-length. Adame, who has released tracks on Underground Quality, Planet E, Rogue Society and Subject Detroit and was tapped by Mad Mike Banks of Underground Resistance in 2004 to play keyboards in UR’s Galaxy 2 Galaxy and Los Hermanos projects, has never wavered when it comes to enriching his style teetering on the border of techno and house with artistry and humanity.

Adame brings the heat in an unassuming way on his Big Shot Guest Mix. Over the arc of 16 tracks he directs a cinematic masterpiece starring fellow Californian Silent Servant, Motor City legend Robert Hood and UK masters Mark Broom and Roberto. His session also includes an unreleased track from his ICAN collaboration with Santiago Salazar called “Conversion.”

In an age when DJ mixes are ubiquitous and often full of bluster, Esteban Adame offers something that’s rare and thoughtful.

Esteban Adame’s Rise & Shine EP with Underground Resistance Remixes is out now on EPMMusic.
