Rising Berlin-based producer Pepe Mateos is on a self-appointed mission to release one track per month in 2021. The 12-part series will no doubt display his diversity when it comes to crafting music for the dance floor.

So far, Pepe, who has released tracks on Toolroom, Circus Recordings and Time Has Changed, is off to a bangin’ start having dropped the sinewy tech-house cut “La Vida” in January. On February 18, Mateos will unleash “Origen” which picks up where his previous release left off.

Lee Walker 5 Tracks Of The Moment

U.K.-based house music DJ/producer Lee Walker has been on a tear since he presented his edit of DJ Deeon’s “Freak Like Me” to the world five or so years ago. Since that breakthrough moment, he’s kept the momentum going by releasing pure fire productions and remixes on Hotflush, Nervous, Circus Recordings and Hot Creations.

In another huge step forward for his career, Lee received a co-sign from New Jersey house music icon Kerri Chandler, whose Madhouse label released his latest track, “Tricks,” complete with both U.K. and U.S. Garage mixes, last week.

Tel Aviv-based DJ/producer Roy Brizman (a.k.a. Gel Abril) has been deep in the mix for years, dropping tech-house masterpieces for top-notch imprints including Ovum, Snatch! and Get Physical as well as his Closed Circuits label.

After releasing his Prolex EP on Francesca Lombardo’s Echoe imprint in August, Roy’s hypnotic track appears on Echolette & Echoe: In Retrospect, a compilation celebrating ten years of Echolette and younger sibling of Echoe.

Introducing the Ambient Side of Jesse Leach

Jesse Leach, the lead singer of revered metalcore band Killswitch Engage, is a musical journeyman who’s probably never met a musical genre he didn’t like.

A devotee of punk, hardcore and all strains of heavy metal, he’s often espoused his passion for reggae, dub, hip-hop and many other genres in interviews.

At the end of the summer, I was tooling around Bandcamp and discovered he had self-released a beautiful ambient album, At First Light. I listened to it and it was the perfect respite to the noise of the chaotic, uncertain times we’re living in. As an unabashed KsE fan, I had to learn more about the ar of this album.
