2019 Rewind: Frankyeffe

frankyeffe

How was 2019 for you?
Frankyeffe: It was a beautiful year. Hard work, but nice.

Highlights?
I did a lot of music for my Riot label – five singles for 2019 – plus other releases on Noir, Senso and We Are The Brave! The releases have been well-received by my fans, and I showcased a harder sound that I had been looking for a while. “Snare,” “CrazyMan 2.0,” “Polymath,” “Jealousy” and “Determination” are the tracks that I’m most proud of this year.

My gigs were very beautiful both in Italy and in the other countries thanks to the professional work of my agency, Yam Agency. After many years I went back to play in Rome and Naples and it was amazing. Every gig always gives me something special, for example in Germany the clubbers are incredible and this year I played two times for Electrokuche. The party there is always great!

Lowlights?
In the summer my mind was very tired, and I had to rest for about a month. I could no longer concentrate a lot. A nice holiday with Francesca and the sea helped me to spend that moment so I came back to work full load and with clear ideas!

Song of the year?
It’s difficult to choose one track but the track that I played many times is “K1a” by Tauchen.

What’s your New Year’s resolution?
To make so many gigs around the world and to release new ideas that I’m finishing in this moment, after which I will make a revolution in my studio!

2019 Rewind: Andres Campo

Andres Campo

How was 2019 for you?
Andres Campo: This year was amazing. I started off being on the front cover of DJ Mag Spain, which was something very special for me. Then [I was] awarded the best Hispano-American Techno DJ at the Vicious Awards and then DJ Mag’s Top 100 had me in at No. 91!

Of course, starting the new label with Eats [Everything] too. EI8HT has been doing really well, and we have such a great team behind the label, I’m really enjoying this new project. Of course, loads of work, traveling and lack of sleep but my dreams have come true and I can’t wait to see what lies ahead in 2020.

Highlights?
All of those listed above, but also Global Music Festival – which is the one that I run with my mates in Zaragoza for the last 10 years. This edition was incredible as we had more then 20,000 people attend. It’s an honor to be able to throw a party like that on my home ground.

Lowlights?
Same as always – lack of help from the government for parties and clubs. We need to fight for our right to party, which also helps the economy in so many places. Also, have to mention the internet, and watching how the scene is being corrupted by marketing and the “likes fever.”

Song of the year?
Truncate’s “Our Bodies” was a special one. It was released on my and Eat’s new collab label, EI8HT, and having Truncate release with us was a big goal checked off!

What’s your New Year’s resolution?
To still have fun doing what I love. Also to visit Latin America a bit more of course, as I have been a few times, and all the shows were unforgettable. I do need more time in the studio and to release on some new platforms that I love. I always set a goal to not let yourself get too relaxed.

2019 Rewind: Alinka

alinka

How was 2019 for you?
Alinka: This year was transformative for me. I left my second job in music copyright to focus on being a full-time musician. Since then I’ve written some of the best music I’ve ever had the pleasure of working on, and I’ve also played some incredible gigs this year.

Highlights?
Playing the closing set at Panorama Bar for the first time this summer. Playing back-to-back with my friend Maceo Plex, who has been really supportive and vital in my life this year. Playing Circoloco on my birthday with the Keinemusik crew and lots of friends. Finding my manager, who has been my rock throughout the year.

Lowlights?
The anxiety that comes with being a full-time musician, social media, world politics.

Song of the year?
Krystal Klear – Entre Nous (Running Back)

What’s your New Year’s resolution?
To keep growing as an artist and a human, and panic a little less about life and trust the journey.

2019 Rewind: Oliver Huntemann

Oliver-Huntemann

How was 2019 for you?
Oliver Huntemann: 2019 was very intense. Mainly I’ve travelled around the world to present my music and also Senso Sounds had an enormous output with many parties to celebrate its fifth anniversary. The year flashed by like no one before.

Highlights?
The opening of my Taqueria Holy Taco in Hamburg.

Lowlights?
The success of the right-wing populists in Germany, especially in the east of Germany.

Song of the year?
Shaded – I Got Haters (Senso Sounds)

What’s your New Year’s resolution?
Nothing special, just trying to eat more healthy and to live more healthy in general.
