Moon Bounce 5 Tracks of the Moment

moon bounce philadelphia

Corey Regensburg is taking electro mutant pop to a new level with his Moon Bounce project. In March the Philadelphia-based producer released a triumphant album, Clean House on Grind Select, in which he completely and unabashedly flips the script on the genre.

Drawing influence from New Jersey noise merchants the Dillinger Escape Plan, sonic iconoclasts Aphex Twin and the electronic mastery of M83, Regensburg is pioneering the future of soulful electronic-fueled indie pop music — right now.

As accolades pile up for his freshly pressed full-length, Regensburg is taking his music to the people by way of a 16-city tour (see dates below) which began on March 31. Before he hit the road on a jaunt crisscrossing America featuring musical homie Ehiorobo, we asked Regensburg to share five fresh tracks he can’t live without.

1. Bibio – “Pretentious”
Cozy and dusty, weird little pop gem.

2. Melody’s Echo Chamber – “I Follow You”
Psychedelic unwind with a guitar hook that keeps you spiraling inward.

3. Jordan Rakei – “Lost Myself”
When your new favorite soul record has a Radiohead track on it.

4. The Bad Plus Joshua Redman – “As This Moment Slips Away”
No one does it like The Bad Plus. Or Joshua Redman.

5. Rahm – “Fault”
Heard this guy for the first time last week. I can’t believe this record. Absurdly innovative and abusively minimal sound design with really soulful songwriting.
