Dutch techno producer Thomas Lauren records heartfelt tracks under the musical alias Qindek. After releasing his Effe EP on WaveReform last year, he returns to the Berlin label with the Odeesjan EP. And what a gorgeous effort it is. Full of sinewy washes of electro-tinged chords and bubbling melodies, it’s a transformative cut that soothes the soul.
When it came time to select a remixer for “Odeesjan,” Lauren tapped Sweden’s Marcus Henriksson. He has produced brilliant work as half of Minilogue and Son Kite, and has blazed trails on his solo project Nobody Home.
Lauren explains the evolution of the remix: “Markus and his solo project Nobody Home got my attention after Oleg, label boss of WaveReform, pointed me in the direction of his track ‘Entheogen.’ I just finished Odeesjan 50th version or so, and we thought a vibe like ‘Entheogen’ could really add value to the record. So Oleg communicated with him, and arranged everything. The remix he made is something else, like completely. but the vibe and heart is the same. Glad to have Markus’ his remix on the record!”
