Premiere: Santa Maradona F.C. feat. Lucy Spraggan – “Give Me Sunshine” (Ruben Mandolini Remix)

Ruben-Mandolini remix

Santa Maradona F.C. are an anonymous collective of globe-trotting musicians and producers who work across a spate of disciplines and have decided to work incognito on this project. Is it true? It is just hype? And what’s with the Maradona reference? Who knows. But what we can tell you is that SMFC’s “Give Me Sunshine” hits on October 12 and the song is well on its way to the top of the charts.

With remixes on the horizon from Toolroom boss Mark Knight and Austria via Brazil’s Joyce Muniz, we’re pleased to world premiere Ruben Mandolini‘s red-hot interpretation.

Mandolini (pictured), who has released tracks on esteemed labels such as Snatch! Records, Defected, OFF Recordings and Terminal M, keeps the tempo at a rolling boil over seven delicious minutes and knows exactly what to do with singer Lucy Spraggan’s voice.

It’s Friday. Crank this bad boy up and don’t think too much about it.

Premiere: Fraulein Z’s “Zug nach Herr Zimmerman”

FRAULEIN-Z

Earlier in the year we tipped you off to the shenanigans of Rotterdam electro-techno club night and record label Herr Zimmerman. Party/label founder Fraulein Z helms HZ’s fifth effort, “Zug nach Herr Zimmerman,” a fierce industrial-techno onslaught that takes no prisoners.

“I came up with the idea for this track and the title while riding the underground in Berlin,” Fraulein Z recalls. “We heard every stop being announced in German and when the doors opened you hear this robotic announcement saying, ‘Einsteigen bitte!’ meaning ‘Please enter!’”

While the track (which brandishes a remix from New York City’s The Horrorist) isn’t available until October 20, we’re thrilled to world premiere the banger today!

Premiere: Alexia Coley’s “Drive Me Wild” (Chicky Boom Remix)

With a sound rooted in jazz, funk and soul, emerging West London singer-songwriter Alexia Coley has been turning a lot of heads as of late for all the right reasons. In the run-up to the release of her forthcoming debut album, Keep The Faith, due in October on Jalapeño Records, Coley has unveiled a free download of Chicky Boom’s “Drive Me Wild,” which is the third single from her upcoming long-player.

On his interpretation the mighty French producer transforms the soul-tastic song into a rocking 4/4 house monster. The Toulouse-based mixmaster manages to pump up the jam for the dance floor while keeping Coley’s engaging voice perfectly in tact.

Video Premiere: Get Funky With Ephemerals’ “Things (Part 1)”

Ephemerals

Ephemerals are a group of young soul rebels who you will be hearing a lot more about once they release their debut album, Nothin Is Easy, on September 1 via Jalapeno Records.

Brandishing a sound that’s informed by classic R&B infused with a modern take, the band, which is notably led by Franglo-American singer Wolfgang Valbrun and Hillman Mondegreen, are orbiting the timeless space occupied by legends like Lee Fields and Charles Bradley.

The rising outfit have just presented the music video for lead track “Things (Part 1),” and we’re elated to world premiere the clip. (While you’re at it download “Things (Part 1 & 2)” for free here.)

Watch their inventive (lyric?!) video below and imagine the funk these guys bring when they perform live!
