A DJ since he was 15, the Tilburg-based producer has been crafting a variety of house tunes ranging from nu disco to tech-house. Influenced by the likes of Floating Points and Todd Terje, the Dutchman, who has issued club tracks on HiFi Stories, Gastspiel, Le Mans and Big Flu Recordings, is about to serve up his Blue Robin EP for the fine folks at Jalapeño.

This emerging talent shows off his downtempo skills with his funky new single “Saint Yellow” which we’re pleased to world premiere.

Premiere: Have a First Listen to Azimute’s “Control”

Azimute Crosstown Rebels

Newly formed house/techno duo Azimute pop their musical cherry in a big way with “Control” for Crosstown Rebels, and we’re pleased to premiere their first offering to the world.

The musical union between DJ/producer Cesare Marchese (a.k.a. Cesare vs Disorder, who has recorded for labels such as BPitch Control, Vakant, Dumb Unit and Get Physical) and veteran DJ/musician Philippe Quenum (who co-founded Cadenza with Luciano in 2002 and has issued tracks for Soma, NovaMute and other labels over the years), the pair decided to join forces after working together on Quenum’s artist album, Face To Face, for Marchese’s Berlin-based Serialism Records.

With its booming, hypnotic bass, tight percussion and robotic vocals, “Control” is simply aching to be heard on a big sound system.

Have a listen below and tell us if you agree. And remember where you heard Azimute first.

Crosstown Rebels will release Azimute’s Control EP on vinyl on October 20, digitally on November 3. The pair will issue an EP shortly on Derrick May’s Transmat Records.

Premiere: Ryan Crosson – “Close To Danger”

Ryan-Crosson

Detroit-bred and Berlin-based DJ/producer Ryan Crosson, who is one-third of Visionquest, continues his winning ways on “Close To Danger,” a new track we’re pleased to world premiere. Culled from his upcoming Bricolage EP out soon on the aforementioned Visionquest imprint, “Close To Danger” saunters every so smoothly along an icy synthscape. We think it is destined to heat up every dance floor it comes in contact with.

“I can’t really say what inspired me to make this track or the track title,” says Crosson, who has released tracks on a plethora of fine labels like Richie Hawtin’s m-nus, Telegraph, Trapez, Wagon Repair, Soma, Spectral Sound and Supplemental Facts. “Like most, it came from noodling around for a few hours, trying different effects and synths until finally some pieces started to gel together.”

Have a listen below and enjoy some of Crosson’s cool sounds.

Visionquest will release Ryan Crosson’s Bricolage EP on vinyl on October 13 and digitally on October 27. Crosson plays Sonopack Festival in Geneva, Switzerland on October 10, Nordstern in Basel, Switzerland on October 11 and Factory in Milano, Italy on October 17.
