Premiere: Stream Der Panther’s ‘Lux’ LP

Der Panther Lux

Anonymous Madrid-based post-everything duo Der Panther draw artistic influence from the vastness of psychedelic and ambient music, the unbridled funk of Afrobeat and disco, post-punk’s dirgy basslines and countless other genres. With records to their credit issued on their Evolving Tracks label, Der Panther’s eclectic, ever-evolving sound soars to the next level on their brand-new Lux album mastered by Alan Douches (Mastodon, Animal Collective, Two Gallants, Mice Parade) which we’re elated to world premiere.

Over the course of seven sprawling tracks, the pair present meticulously crafted songs that wrap their arms around Balearic beats, pop and intriguing experimental offerings. Der Panther aren’t a studio project. In fact, the twosome take their live show quite seriously, performing inside a cube illuminated by bespoke projections.

Listen to Der Panther’s Lux below and get ready to take a musical trip you’ll never want to end.

Der Panther’s Lux is released May 18, 2015.

Premiere: Dirtwire – “Rollin'”

Dirtwire-RipTide

Oakland, CA-based electro-acoustic duo Dirtwire is a musical vehicle helmed by David Satori of Beats Antique and Evan Fraser of Stellamara. A project that juxtaposes electronics with acoustic instrumentation, their forward-thinking sound flips the norm on its ear and presents a litany of new musical possibilities.

We’re thrilled to world premiere “Rollin'” from the Bay Area twosome’s album, a bluesy, soulful offering that we’ll guarantee sounds like nothing you’ve ever heard before.

Premiere: Cold Courage – “Illusory”

Cold-Courage

The next time someone says youth is wasted on the young, point them in the direction of UK producer Cold Courage.

Only 23, he’s about to unveil his self-released debut EP called Her after the title track and follow-up “Brother” received a spate of props around the blogosphere. His ambient-experimental sound is realized by manipulating sounds, YouTube clips, iPhone memos and twisting it up with live instrumentation and assorted accoutrements.

Though he’s received rightful comparisons to stalwarts such as Jon Hopkins and Bonobo, Cold Courage’s layered signature wields a rawer, glitchy boom-bap.

We’re thrilled to debut “Illusory” from his maiden voyage, an expansive track that hints at even greater things to come for this rising talent.

Cold Courage’s Her EP is released May 20, 2015 on Cold Courage Music. Continue Reading

Premiere: Alex Neri and Federico Grazzini – “Desert Rose” (Federico Grazzini Mix)

Alex-Neri-and-Federico-Grazzini-Desert-Rose

Steve Lawler‘s VIVa MUSIC proves yet again why it’s one of the most consistent house labels in the game with Alex Neri and Federico Grazzini‘s sprawling upcoming effort, “Desert Rose.”

The result of an improvised jam session between two of Italy’s rising DJ/producer stars, riffing on melodies and beats on vintage analog machines (Roland TR909, Jupiter 8 and Moog Voyager) led to this back to the future gem which glides along the border of house and techno.

Listen to the world premiere of “Desert Rose” (Federico Grazzini Mix) below, and be sure to snatch it up the 12″ out May 11 and digitally May 25, 2015.
