Along the way, we were able to relive magical moments as we hope for better days to come.
For the final installment of the series, we spoke with Rome-born, Florence-based DJ/producer Matisa.
The vinyl-only decknician is known widely for championing a diverse style that embraces house, electro and any style that’ll move a dance floor.
Having released The Elsewhere EP on Biologic Records featuring a remix from Kim Ann Foxman in June, we connected with Matisa and asked her to recall her last DJ gig before turntables stopped spinning.

The globetrotting Italian DJ/producer has a lengthy discography of dance floor heaters. He recently released “Klimax” with Pat BDS on their Adesso Music imprint. The sleek tech-house track features remixes a pair of forthcoming remixes from Darius Syrossian and Patrice Bäumel.

Next up in our Last DJ Set series, where we’re talking to a wide range of artists about their final gig before government-ordered lockdowns and travel bans went into effect in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic, is Swiss DJ and producer and Polaris festival curator Mirko Loko.
Earlier this month, Loko’s phenomenal Detroit Love Vol. 4 was released via Carl Craig’s Planet E. The compilation features previously unreleased collaborations with Derrick May, Ursula Rucker and a special edit of his collab with Stacey Pullen, “Tronic Illusion.”
We recently caught up with Loko to discuss his last gig at Le Bourg in Lausanne, Switzerland, on February 29, before the world went completely sideways.
