Drum ‘n’ bass promoter Salmon “Mac”McFarlane has been a staple of New York City’s underground music scene since the ’90s. His Konkrete Jungle party, which he began in 1994, has withstood countless musical fads, trends and even gentrification. It’s been one of the few consistent parties where Big Apple junglists can hear the freshest tunes spun by up-and-coming and established DJs from all over the world. MacFarlane recently had to hit the pause button on his work due to health issues. A cold apparently led to a severe asthma attack, and he ended up in the hospital where he battled for his life. We hear that Mac is doing better and might be home before Christmas. A GoFundMe campaign has been established on his behalf to help him pay mounting medical bills. All contributions will go to helping this NYC legend get back on his feet again.
