Claude VonStroke & Green Velvet Team Up As Get Real for B2B Dates

Claude VonStroke Green Velvet Team Up As Get Real

This is becoming the decade of DJ pair-offs, which is certainly not a bad thing. We’ve previously seen team-ups like Bauuer and Just Blaze’s Big League Tour, Lunice and Hudson Mohawk coming together as TNGHT and currently Skrillex and Diplo are getting ready to rave up Madison Square Garden this New Year’s Eve.

So, much to the delight of everyone, Dirty Bird’s Claude Von Stroke and Relief Records’ Green Velvet are teaming up as Get Real, for a set of trailblazing sets at the end of the month. Having recently played some back-to-back sets in Miami, Las Vegas and Chicago, the two flag-carrying house and techno greats will be hitting up Loa Angeles, Detroit and Chicago. No word yet on any collaborative singles between the two, but one can only hope something gets real over all this quality time together.

Diplo and Katy Perry’s Relationship: No Longer Mad Decent

Diplo-and-Katy-Perry

After stepping out together publicly in a big way at Coachella in April, Diplo and Katy Perry’s relationship has apparently come to an end.

A moment of silence, please.

According to In Touch Weekly, the booty-obsessed Diplo, 35, put the kibosh on the one-month courtship with Perry, who is reportedly 29. “Diplo broke up with her because she does not want to be in a serious relationship. She’s doing OK and not too sad about it. They wanted different things,” a friend of Katy’s tells the mag. “She freaked out when he wanted to introduce her to his parents. She doesn’t want to get married again — at least not anytime soon. She wants to date and he wanted something much more serious. It was too much, too soon.”

An “insider” told the gossip publication that Perry “was really into him,” but with both of them working so much, the producer thought it wasn’t a “fair” situation.

Where do they go from here? Well, Perry is currently touring her Prism album to sold-out shows and Diplo is keeping busy DJing and helming Mad Decent’s block parties this summer. And today he posted this awesome image on Instagram:

Diplo is Apparently Dating Katy Perry

It’s official, according to gossip websites at least: DJ/producer/Mad Decent honcho/twerk enthusiast Diplo is dating pop star Katy Perry. We normally don’t pay much attention to scuttlebutt like this, but there is something interesting about the alleged romance in lieu of the type of women Diplo (who once dated M.I.A.) typically favors in his shows. Apparently the two were seen gallivanting together at Coachella and that’s set off a lot of interest in what could be happening between the two artists. According to the New York Post, “Katy and Diplo hooked up at Coachella. They were together behind the main stage, where she had a tour bus or trailer, and a group of her friends were hanging out. It was very obvious that Katy and Diplo were together. They seemed inseparable and at one point they were seen getting onto her bus together.”

The pair were “inseparable” at a party for designer Jeremy Scott and Adidas on Saturday night. Radar Online reported, “They’ve been friends forever … It definitely looked like more than that! At one point he even had his arms around her.”

Had her arms around her? That sounds absolutely scandalous.

But the weekend at Coachella wasn’t without drama. Radar Online reports that one female fan got too close to Diplo, posing for several pics and hanging all over him. That didn’t go down with Perry. “Katy had the girl thrown out!” the source claims. “She was yelling and kind of upset about it. The girl didn’t have a wristband and was a total sloppy party crasher, but still, it was kind of surprising.”

Neither of the two posted pictures of themselves together at Coachella, but Diplo did post this awesome “selfie” on Instagram.

Skrillex and Diplo Played Secret L.A. Party Last Night For DANCE (RED), Save Lives [Gallery]

Skrillex and Diplo at RED DANCE

Last night Grammy nominees Skrillex, Diplo, Kaskade, Nero and Tommy Trash played a secret pre-Grammy party in Los Angeles at the AT&T Building. The bash featuring the cadre of respected DJs had a noble purpose: to raise awareness of DANCE (RED), Save Lives, the electronic music branch of Bono and Bobby Shriver’s RED charity that’s engaging businesses in the global fight against AIDS. It was an intimate evening to say the least: only 20 sets of four tickets to the private event were auctioned off via global charity auction site Charitybuzz.com. An auction featuring loads of memorabilia and the opportunity to meet artists from many genres ends tonight. If the auction is too rich for your blood (or you simply don’t fancy paying a few grand to hang out with Steven Tyler or Barry Manilow), then take the path of least resistance by purchasing the DANCE (RED), Save Lives Presented By Tiësto album.
