Music fans have been hearing for some time about the resurgence of vinyl. Pressing plants are running at full capacity, with new factories said to be coming online.
In April BuzzAngle Music, a service of New York-based music technology company Border City Media, reported that vinyl album sales on Record Store Day 2017 at independent music stores were up 14% compared to Record Store Day 2016. What’s more is that vinyl album sales on Record Store Day (4/22/17) at independent music stores were up 2,606% compared to the previous Saturday (4/15/17). That’s quite an increase.
