Singer/songwriter/TV personality Pete Burns of ’80s band Dead or Alive has died at the age of 57. In a statement on Twitter, Pete’s manager Steve Coy, wrote: “It is with the greatest sadness that we have to break the tragic news that our beloved Pete Burns of (Dead Or Alive) died suddenly yesterday of a massive cardiac arrest. All of his family and friends are devastated by the loss of our special star. He was a true visionary, a beautiful talented soul, and he will be missed by all who loved and appreciated everything he was and all of the wonderful memories the has left is with (sic).”
Dead or Alive achieved massive global success with their electronic pop-dance 1985 single “You Spin Me Round” hit by the Stock Aitken Waterman production trio. In later years Burns appeared on Celebrity Big Brother 2006 and television reality shows. During his later life he suffered various financial woes and a mental breakdown.
