Dance music might have a hedonistic mindset, but a new 50-song compilation is aiming to help with a serious issue: autism.
Bass for Autism Vol. 2, which was released last week, features musical contributions from a plethora of underground stalwarts from the world of EDM. The compendium’s goal is to promote autism awareness, with proceeds from sales helping to support the efforts of Organization for Autism Research (OAR), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
The release is collaborative project between some of the most prolific purveyors of electronic dance music — Savant, Xilent, DotEXE, Curious Kontrol, Rameses B, Splitbreed and others — as well as EDM.com, SectionZ Records and the edmDistrict. The first installment of Bass for Autism raised over $3,500, and the team is aiming to raise even more money this time around.
If you want to show your support for this good cause, head over to their Bandcamp page and know that your purchase will benefit OAR’s programs, including Operation Autism (supporting U.S. military families affected by autism), Autism in the Schoolhouse and the OAR Scholarship Program.
