After celebrating 20 years in the biz last year by releasing The Alchemist: The Best Of Goldie 1992-2012, drum ‘n’ bass don/Metalheadz Records founder/actor/bon vivant Goldie — remember when he appeared on BBC Two’s Maestro series? — has announced an upcoming Masterpiece compilation for Ministry of Sound due out August 18.

The three-disc set is divided into three parts — The Alpha, Journeyman and Headzville — and finds the gold-toothed master exploring the wealth of music that influenced him as an artist such as Junior Murvin, Terry Callier, Serious Intention and Soul II Soul through to drum ‘n’ bass classics from Zero B, Nookie, Egyptian Empire and Roni Size. Headzville features tracks by several producers who recorded for Metalheadz, including dBridge, Commix, Jubei and more.

While announcements like these are normally accompanied by a tracklisting, Goldie is keeping his cards close to his chest for now, thus adding to the mystique behind his release.
