Producer Matt Edwards (a.k.a. Radioslave) and Thomas Gandy (Cagedbaby) have announced that their live project Matom has birthed a full-length studio album called Love Mistake due out July 28, 2014 on Carl Craig’s Planet E.

Originally a one-off affair established to create an hour of music to celebrate the iconic Hansa recording studios in Berlin, the duo went on to play a handful of shows in Europe and one in the U.S. during Winter Music Conference. Matom’s Love Mistake features no samples or MIDI, embracing organic music creation at its finest and is given life through the implementation of Fender Rhodes, Moog Voyager, Clavia Nords, Roland Drum Machines, live percussion and guitar from collaborator Paul Sandrone.

Obligatory press gush from Matt Edwards: “The initial music was loosely based around the recording of David Bowie’s ‘Low’ and the works of Iggy Pop and I wanted to create these soundscapes that would allow Thomas to improvise and we managed to come up with seven songs in two days.”
