5 Great Moments From Gesaffelstein & The Hacker’s Zone Parties

The Hacker and Gesaffelstein are taking a much deserved victory lap as their Zone club night/record label is now five years old. Known for throwing kick-ass events in France and beyond and issuing choice tracks that exist on the border of house, techno and electro from artists such as Arnaud Rebotini (Black Strobe), Remote, Djedjotronic and Maelstrom as well cuts from the label’s aforementioned proprietors, Zone just released a brilliant new EP by Mikron, an Australian duo composed of brothers Ciaran and Michael Corcoran. The pair’s No Correlation EP boasts a grasp of techno that’s wise beyond their years and has won favor with hot-shot decknicians like Laurent Garnier, Joakim and Gavin Russom.

To mark Zone’s five-year milestone, Zone’s label manager, David Rimokh (pictured above), put together a celebratory electro-flavored DJ mix — which he tells us was inspired by DJ I-F — featuring blazing-hot tracks from Busy P, Antoni Maiovvi, Legowelt and the Corcoran boys (full tracklist is at the bottom of this story). Listen to the premiere below and read on as Rimokh talks about five memorable parties during Zone’s storied history.

David Rimokh’s 5 Best Memories from Zone’s Parties

1. One of the first Zone nights at Le Regine Paris with The Hacker, David Carretta and one of Gesaffelstein’s first ever live shows too — all in a small Parisian disco club. It was a super night and here us pogoing with David Carretta!

2. This is a picture of the other manager of Zone, Alexandre Reynaud. He’s somewhere between space and earth. I had to include this picture because Zone is first and foremost a story about friends.

3. Backstage at a Zone night.

4. This picture is from a couple of years ago at Nuit Sonore in Lyon. The Hacker and Gesaffelstein DJing together in our hometown!!

5. I’m a big fan of electro! This is a picture of I-F DJing last year at one of our parties. It was probably the best DJ sets I heard last year. My mix is very inspired by I-F’s universe.
