Jean Pierre 5 Tracks of the Moment

Jean Pierre

At the end of December 2018 NYC-based Jean Pierre unleashed The Shuffle EP on The Martinez Brothers’ Cuttin’ Headz label. On the title track, Pierre, a veteran floor-mover whose discography includes releasing on top labels including Hot Trax, Desolat, Defected and Nervous, flaunts his impactful tech-house signature alongside The Martinez Brothers and Jesse Calosso. Archie Hamilton takes “Shuffle” into a deeper direction with his brooding remix and the EP is rounded out by the uptempo “Thought Process” featuring Seezar and the driving tribal beats of his solo track, “Low Ride.”

Currently riding high on the EP’s buzz, we checked in with the Big Apple maestro and asked him to share his five tracks of the moment.

Brothers Vibe – Manos Libre (Original Mix)

Been playing this record for a while now and it’s one of my favorite tracks of the moment. Sets the vibe so proper and when the congas come in it really makes the mood. Such a classic record from Brothers Vibe.

Craig and Grant Gordon – Dangerous

These kids have been on our radar this whole year with bomb after bomb. This is def one of my favorite jams of theirs; it just works! Was in my crate for the Music On shows in Ibiza. Bassline and drums work so well together that it sets the floor on fire every time.

Jesse Calosso, Jean Pierre – Under the Covers (Joey Daniel & AJ Christou Remix)

What can I say … these guys murdered this remix. Love the way they worked the snares and the vocal. Track is full of energy and rocks the floor every time. Really happy with this release on the mighty Leftroom with my bro Jesse Calosso. Major bomb alert!

Eddie Richards – D Comm

This guy is an absolute legend, and this record is just one of the many countless tunes Eddie has done. I absolutely love the groove and vocal on this track. Sets the vibe apart and keeps it classy but fun. It’s one of those tunes you can play front to back and not get bored. Def give this one a listen if you haven’t heard it before.

Shaolin Fantastic – Kindness

This was my tune of the Ibiza season. From DC-10 for the Tuskegee party to countless afterparties, it was a tune that stood out for me from the moment I got it. The drums and bass work so well together that when the vocal comes in it completely gets you in the pocket. This is all about the groove right here. Don’t sleep on this one.
