With the midpoint of 2018 fast approaching, Spanish house maestro Dennis Cruz is enjoying a productive year behind the decks and in the studio.
In January he unleashed “The Sun,” a standout tech-house collaboration with fellow Spaniards Chus & Ceballos on Stereo Productions. Cruz then went on to drop the buzzy Latin-flavored bomb “El Sueño” feat. Martina Camargo on Moon Harbour in May.
As of this writing he’s preparing to complete a hat trick with the stripped down late-night gem “Freaks” remixed by NYC’s Joeski out June 22 on Hot Creations.
Ahead of a jam-packed summer filled with club and festival gigs all over the world, we caught up with Cruz and asked him to share five tracks that are currently dominating his DJ sets.
NTFO – Esperantza (Original Mix) (Bondage Music)
An amazing track taken from NTFO’s latest EP on Bondage Music. Deep grooves perfect for the club, and I love the synths!
Mikael Jonasson – EXILE009 A1 (Original Mix) (EXILE)
A simple techno track with a vocal loop that sounds amazing on a big system. I loved it the fist time I listened to it, a big peak-time track!
Pastaboys – Kolo Kolo (Original Mix) (Crosstown Rebels)
Released on Crosstown Rebels this month, this one has a heavy baseline that reminds me of some old school tracks that I’ve played on the past. Absolutely love this groove!
Dennis Cruz – El Sueño (feat. Martina Camargo) (Moon Harbour)
My latest track, which was recently released on Moon Harbour. Tribal beats partnered with the amazing vocal of Martina Camargo – summer vibes and perfect for open-air parties!
Funk The Beat – In The Mix (Original Mix) (PPMUSIC)
A funky track packed with lyrics that make you move! I always play this one, and you can feel the good energy from the dance floor. Groovy!
