2017 Rewind: Vazik

Vazik

How was 2017 for you?

Vazik: 2017 was a hectic year. I was awarded for the second time Best Techno DJ in Mexico. It was a year full of learning and amazing experiences. We did our seventh edition of Picnic Day Party, which was absolutely amazing. We also made a beautiful edition of Radiance and many good events in Mexico City. I was touring for two months in Europe and played in Canada again.

I’m very thankful for the team that is around me. We have consolidated a marvelous group on Sounds of Earth. All artists are involved and we all share a very nice energy. Music-wise, I released music on labels like Stil Vor Talent, Fresco Records, Jannowitz, 8day, 5uinto Records, etc. My side project UV (with Ulises) is flowing nicely and we are preparing some exquisite releases too.

Highlights?
Receiving the Best Techno DJ of the Year award in Mexico. It’s my fifth award, and I’m very grateful for that. Playing at Sisyphos and Golden Gate in Berlin. Those gigs were absolutely amazing. I love to play in Berlin and around the globe. The party with D-Nox at the Cabin in Mexico City. We did it two weeks after the heavy earthquakes here, and we collected money for two non-governmental organizations. We not only helped many people but the energy on this party was from another planet.

Lowlights?
No lowlights ☺

Song of the year?
Eitan Reiter’s “Pyramid” (Dusty Kid Adventures Mix)

What’s your New Year’s resolution?
I have very good plans for my DJ career and my label. Seems like 2018 is going to be even better than 2017. I need more time in the studio to finish all the ideas that are in my head. 2018 is going to be ours! Thank you. ☺
