2017 Rewind: Kristian Nairn

Kristian Nairn

How was 2017 for you?
Kristian Nairn: It’s been amazing. I’ve continued to travel, and things have continued to grow and progress, more than I even could have hoped. It’s always daunting leaving a show, especially one as loved at GoT, but my diary is busier now than it ever has been, and I’m eternally grateful for that.

Highlights?
Playing at Cafe Mambo and Cream, Amnesia in Ibiza recently was one of the most special nights of my life. It felt like it was a long time coming and something I had been working toward. Also playing in Vegas. As I type this, I realize that I could keep thinking of things … it’s been a good year.

Lowlights?
It’s going to sound strange I guess, but I don’t focus on the negative. That’s truly one of my mantras and how I keep going and moving. I try to forget negative things, unless there is something to be learnt from it. Otherwise, throw it away. If I had to say something, I would probably say getting sick a lot from travelling so much, but I can deal with that.

Song of the year?
I’ve been agonizing over this for a bit longer than I care to admit. It’s impossible for me to choose for just too many reasons. I will say that I love Trixie Mattel’s Two Birds album, and I’m very excited to hear new material from Chvrches!

What’s your New Year’s resolution?
To continue with what I’m doing and to continue growing and learning about the world and the people in it!
