Bastian Bux 5 Tracks of the Moment

Bastian-Bux

Fresh from collaborating with Coyu on the Serendib EP, partnering with Lee Van Dowski on the Nine Lives EP and contributing “Tresor” to Coyu’s Beauty Imperfection compilation, Spanish DJ/producer Bastian Bux continues his upward trajectory with his Lights EP on Suara Music.

His fifth effort for Coyu’s revered Barcelona-based imprint is a triumphant collaboration with Toronto-based singer-songwriter Kyla Millette. Though it’s categorized as techno, the emotive track is engrained with strains of electronica and bathed with melodies that soothe the mind, body and soul.

Rounding out the release are divine remixes by Fur CoatSteve Rachmad and Sterac Electronics as well as a terrific bonus track, “Umoden,” that’s worthy of your attention.

We checked in with the rising star and asked him to share five new tracks that are currently dominating his DJ sets.

Tale Of Us & Vaal – “Monument”
The Italian duo are masters when it comes to creating sophisticated songs with minimalistic and even simple elements. In this case, Vaal’s vocals take the thing to a whole new level.

DJ Deep – “New Horizon” (Roman Poncet Steps Remix)
I’m attracted to minimalistic techno these days, and this track is an example of this kind of sound. It’s simple, deep, energetic and atmospheric at the same time.

Rebolledo – “Discotico Plexico” (Maceo Plex Remix)
Been playing this one for a while now, and I just can’t stop. It has the perfect mix between underground techno vibes and indie-rock influences. Love it.

Architectural – “Cubismo 8.3”
Intense, mysterious, and energetic. Architectural always know how to deliver quality, and I’ve been in love with this one for a long time.

Patrice Bäumel – “Sorcery”
Patrice is on fire. After “Glutes,” “Sorcery” has been present in almost every set of mine. It is super simple, almost a DJ tool, but it works better and better every time.
