Victor Norman 5 Tracks of the Moment

victor-norman

Swedish DJ Victor Norman has been gravitating toward production as of late, patiently crafting his sound without feeling the need to adhere to any specific genres. So it’s only perfect that he will close out 2016 in fine fashion with Hymn, an EP for Berlin-based imprint Amselcom Records.

Due out on December 23, the title track is a meditative selection of deep techno peppered with haunting chant-like vocals. The EP comes complete with remixes by Bernstein and Birds of Mind as well as “Mimikry,” a collaboration with French downtempo artist Harro Triptrap. Ahead of the EP’s release, we checked in with Norman and asked him to guide us through five of his current favorite tracks.

1. Ioanis – “Cosmogony”
Great seductive track from Ioanis, whom I’ve had the honor of co-producing with. Great label as well!

2. Landhouse & Raddantze – “Robots”
Any track with space as a central theme will get my attention, and this one is like strapping a rocket to your brain. Amazeballs.

3. DkA – “Nostalgia”
Dka has been a favorite in the Amselcom stable for a long time now. This track shows his signature style in the best possible way.

4. Eric Lemuet – “En Haut”
Eric deserves so much more attention and recognition than what he has at the moment. Almost everything he does is amazing, and this one definitely doesn’t disappoint.

5. Luca Musto – “Movements”
Luca’s debut EP on Feinestier is pretty much perfect. I love his soul/R&B take on deep house. All his tunes make me feel warm and fuzzy. Very special stuff.
