Buku Music + Art Project took place this past weekend in New Orleans. The two-day festival was filled with great music, good vibes and lots of sunshine. While A$AP Rocky used his appearance to debut three new songs (“Multiply,” “Lord Pretty Flacko 2” and “Mmm’s”), dance music and DJ culture was well represented with a wide range of stylistic sets by the likes of Claude VonStroke and Zomboy to live performances by Empire of the Sun and STS9.
Here are 12 absolutely amazing shots from the festival.
Bounce star Big Freedia represented NOLA
UK dubstep demon Zomboy was so amped during his DJ set that he went into a backbend
Thomas Jack played a set from a cool structure high above the crowd
Road dogs STS9 brought their unique brand of live electronic music to the party
There were no judgments at Buku. In fact, this girl wore a fanny pack and nobody raised an eyebrow.

Flosstradamus performed wearing flak jackets just to be on the safe side
Empire of the Sun’s set was like walking on a dream
Ninja from Die Antwoord couldn’t help but do a bit of crowd surfing
Dirtybird’s Claude VonStroke delivered a stellar set
